I am proudly performing at a Walk for the Cure for Huntingtons Disease later this month, Sat, September 26th In Irvine Caliornia.
PLEASE, PLEASE,those of you who can... please get involved in conquering this very scary disease. It's not as rare as you would think either. People have to hide the fact that they've even been tested in order to protect themselves from insurance companies. We need a world full of prayers that they find SOME treatments for this horrific and deadly disease that steals whole families. Hopefully soon we can make this a non fatal disease and give people their lives back. PLEASE HELP in anyway you can. There are ways to be tested either confidentially or better yet, anonymously but it can be quite expensive.
Don't allow the families suffering from this horrid disease to be branded with a scarlet letter just by getting tested whether the results are positive or negative. Help to make this disease no longer terminal. Help us to find some treatment.
Currently there are NO treatments which can stop or slow the course of the disease. It is horrible. Don't let it steal the songs of so many beautiful souls. Huntingtons Disease is a disease that affects many worldwide.
It is a genetic disease that can be passed down from parent to child. Within each case, there is a 50% chance that the child will or will not have been passed the mutated Huntington Gene.
This disease is a slow neurological regenerative disease causing:
- Cognitive Issues
- Uncontrollable Movements
- Trouble Walking
- Trouble Speaking
- Trouble Eating
Eventually causing death.
There are 2 types of H.D.
1. Juvenile Huntingtons
Affecting ages as young as 5 - 20 years.
2. Adult Huntingtons
Affecting ages 20 and up.
Currently there are no treatments which can stop or slow the course of the disease.
Lets get more people aware of this disease, by spreading the word. Together let's make a difference!
